About the author, Marc Finnern
I am Marc Finnern and I run Trade Checker. The guides on this site are written by me, and under German media law I am the person responsible for their content. This page says who is behind them, how they come about and where their limits are.
Who I am
My main occupation is Klickfabrik, an agency for digital communication in Duisburg, Germany. Trade Checker grew alongside it because I wanted to analyse my own Trade Republic history and the app could not do it, neither winners and losers across several years nor a reliable return.
I am neither a tax adviser nor an investment adviser and I offer neither. What you read here are explanations and calculations, not a recommendation to buy or sell a particular security.
How the content comes about
Every figure in Trade Checker is checked against real broker exports, never against invented sample files. An import filter counts as finished only once a genuine export from that provider exists and the cash balances per currency add up to the cent.
The guides follow the same principle. Tax statements name the legal basis and link the law text, and prices of other providers carry the date on which they were read from that provider pricing page.
